For those who follow baseball as closely as I do, you might want to know which amateurs go in the first 2 rounds of the draft tonight. MLB is making sure it’s fan friendly to follow the draft. Here’s the scoop:
It all gets started with the Draft preview show on MLB.com and MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday. Live Draft coverage from MLB Network’s Studio 42 begins at 7 p.m., with the top 73 picks being streamed on MLB.com and broadcast on MLB Network, starting with Houston at No. 1 overall.
Rounds 3-10 will be streamed live on MLB.com on Friday, beginning with a preview show at 12:30 p.m., and Rounds 11-40 will be streamed live on MLB.com on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
With no Blue Jays game to watch tonight, it might be worth checking out the first 2 rounds. The Jays have the 10th overall pick and it’s pretty impossible to know who will be remaining. Rule of thumb in baseball drafts – pick the best player available regardless of position. It takes so long to get guys MLB ready, you never know who is really going to make it.
